Tabbouleh Recipe

Tabbouleh is a popular Middle Eastern salad that is made with parsley, tomatoes, onions, and bulgur wheat.

The ingredients are tossed together with a dressing made from lemon juice and olive oil, and the salad is seasoned with salt and pepper. Tabbouleh is often served as a side dish, but it can also be eaten as a light meal on its own. The refreshing flavors of tabbouleh make it a popular choice during the warmer months. It is typically accompanied by pita bread or vegetables.

Here is a recipe for making tabbouleh:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup bulgur wheat
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the bulgur wheat in a fine mesh sieve and place it in a large bowl. Add the water and let the bulgur soak for 30 minutes.
  2. Drain the bulgur and squeeze out any excess water.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the parsley, tomatoes, and red onion to the bowl with the bulgur and toss to combine.
  5. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss again to coat.
  6. Serve the tabbouleh chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy!
