HUMMUS RECIPE
A dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic.
Here is a recipe for making hummus:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cooked, mashed chickpeas
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2-4 tablespoons water
- Olive oil and paprika, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Process until the mixture is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
- If the hummus is too thick, add 2-4 tablespoons of water, a little at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
- Transfer the hummus to a serving dish and smooth the top with a spoon.
- If desired, drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle with paprika.
- Serve the hummus with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers. Enjoy!
