HUMMUS RECIPE

A dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic.

Here is a recipe for making hummus:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked, mashed chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2-4 tablespoons water
  • Olive oil and paprika, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Process until the mixture is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  3. If the hummus is too thick, add 2-4 tablespoons of water, a little at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  4. Transfer the hummus to a serving dish and smooth the top with a spoon.
  5. If desired, drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle with paprika.
  6. Serve the hummus with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers. Enjoy!
