CHICKEN SHAWARMA RECIPE
SHAWARMA is a Middle Eastern dish that consists of thinly sliced,

Here is a recipe for making chicken shawarma:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom (optional)
- Pita bread or flatbread
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, hummus, tzatziki sauce
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cardamom (if using).
- Place the chicken in a large bowl and add the yogurt mixture. Toss to coat the chicken evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours.
- Preheat your grill or broiler to high heat. Grill or broil the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
- Meanwhile, warm the pita bread or flatbread in the oven or on the grill.
